Recently Shkolina perfectly performed at the last Olympic Games in the capital of China – Beijing. 2013 World champion Svetlana Shkolina was born 9th March 1986 in Yartsevo in the Smolensk region. From the early years was involved in sports activities. She was interested in not only athletics, but also other sports. As a result, Svetlana decided to concentrate all her attention on the high jump. Shkolina wanted to achieve great success in this field and to glorify her own country.

Sport career of Svetlana Shkolina

Coaches predicted Shkolina bright sporting future even in her school years. In fact, after a while Svetlana performed in full in the junior competitions, winning awards and prizes. Largely thanks to the support of family and friends, as well as her own natural gift. Shkolina was able to achieve high results with each new performance, the athlete jumped higher and higher. Her progress was evident.

After a while Svetlana was able to get into the national team of Russia. This happened in 2003. After this successful start the jumper participated at the international competitions. Shkolina longed for elite competitions – she wanted to get to the Olympics. Svetlana had a lot of training, as competition in the international arena was (and still is) extremely high.

In 2007 Shkolina significantly improved her results by making a big step forward. At the European Championship among youth talented athlete won first place. After a while Svetlana perfectly manifested herself in the Russian championship, having received the gold medal.

In 2008 Shkolina entered the Olympic team, received a ticket to Beijing. Svetlana was happy to perform at prestigious competition, which – in the end – adequately ranked her high (for debutantes) position.
