The Russian flag was raised by cosmonauts Sergei Krikalev, Svetlana Savitskaya, Roman Romanenko, Fedor Yurchikhin and Elena Serova. The anthem of Russia was performed by the choir of the Moscow Sretensky Monastery.

On the arene appear athletes with flags of their countries. The most conservative part of the ceremony – the parade of athletes was not boring at all. By tradition, the parade started with the Greeks.

The stadium “Fischt” in Sochi held colorful and technically ambitious opening ceremony of Winter Olympic Games 2014.
