Olympics opening ceremony in Sochi, 7th February, 2014.. 3000 artists were eventually selected for the preparation of the show and even many more volunteers helped organize the Festival. At auditions candidates often danced in «Gangnam Style». The youngest participant is 5 years old, the oldest – 67. The show begins with the theme “Dreams of Russia” – the most complex technically show in the history. A girl named Lyubov leads the audience through the presentation and becomes the main character.

The arena turns into floating islands and volcanoes. Chukotka reindeer and yurts. Actors appear out of the mist, symbolizing the nationalities inhabiting Russia.

Following the presentation of Russian President Vladimir Putin and IOC President Thomas Bach, Russian national anthem is played in the hall. Sretensky Choir performs.
On the arene appear athletes with flags of their countries. The most conservative part of the ceremony – the parade of athletes was not boring at all. By tradition, the parade started with the Greeks.

The stadium “Fischt” in Sochi held colorful and technically ambitious opening ceremony of Winter Olympic Games 2014. Show became the basis of the history and Russian ballet performance based on the ball of Natasha Rostova character of War and Peace by Tolstoy, and on arena floor was projected view of our planet from space.
