
Gold domes of Russia by Fedoskino artists. Fedoskino is a Russian art school, with its own traditions, long history and culture, its name came from the old village Fedoskino, near Moscow. Materials used in Fedoskino art – papier-mache, pure gold or silver leaf, mother-of-pearl, covered with several layers of lacquer. Fedoskino contemporary artists and their work, to some extent, is a reflection of modern life. Usually boxes are painted inside and outside in imitation tortoise-shell, birch bark, mahogany or tartan. The work of contemporary Fedoskino concentrates the whole experience and the diversity of artistic traditions of the world art, enriching it and proving the viability of its historical heritage.
