My favorite actor Oleg Menshikov is one of the most famous actors in my country – intelligent, handsome, just Russian Brad Pitt, or Alain Delon of Russian cinema. Oleg Menshikov was born November 8, 1960 in the town of Serpukhov, Moscow region in a family of Evgeni Menshikov (b. 1934) – a military engineer, and Elena Innokentievna Menshikova (born 1933), doctor – neurologist.
After graduating
After graduating from secondary school and music school (Oleg plays the violin and the piano) in 1977, Oleg Menshikov entered the Higher Drama School named after Shchepkin. He was drafted into the Soviet army and served in the Central Academic Theater of the Soviet Army. In 1985 Menshikov joined the troupe of The Yermolova Theater, where he worked until 1989, playing a number of notable roles. In 1995, he organized his own theater company, called “Partnership 814”. Right now Oleg is the artistic director of the Yermolova theater.
Being a free actor, Menshikov played in productions of Peter Fomenko (the role of Caligula in the eponymous play – 1990), London’s “Globe” (the role of Sergei Yesenin in the play “When She Danced” – 1991).
In early 2008, made his first one-man show ” 1900 ” on the stage of the Theater. City Council within the framework of the festival “The Cherry Orchard .”
Since 1998, Menshikov has been a chairman of Foundation for the Support of Russian culture. It is included in the permanent membership of the independent jury prize for literature and art, “Triumph”.
In 2003 Oleg Menshikov awarded the title of People’s Artist of Russia. In 2005, Oleg Menshikov married beautiful actress Anastasia Chernova.
