Elena Pelevina dedicated her life to the promotion of Russian national arts and crafts, praising Russia in the homeland and abroad. One of the directions of Elena Pelevina’s creativity is porcelain dolls. Through her art Elena shows the beauty of Russian folk costume, as well as folk costume of all nationalities living in Moscow (there were more than 140). In the work of Elena Pelevina costume art embodied all the best from a bygone civilization of Russian culture. To the applied art she added all her power as the artist painter, graphic artist, sculptor. She is a truly Russian artist and at the same time international. In her work there is no fake, eclecticism, no desire to speculate on the past. In addition to the possession, she has a huge faith in what she has dedicated her life to.

Elena Lolievna Pelevina was born in Moscow. She graduated with honors from Moscow Institute of Technology, Faculty of Applied Arts and began working as an artist-designer in the fashion department of GUM that is on Red Square. Eight years before the birth of her son Platon she had worked in the field of domestic industrial sewing production, mastering related professions of a designer and technologist.

America, France, Italy, Greece, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Austria, Australia, Luxembourg, Japan, Bahrain, China, Mexico – this is an incomplete list of countries, where the author presented her art.

About Elena Pelevina are written more than 700 articles in national and foreign press. Her costumes decorated pop singers, ordinary people and the cultural elite of society: composer Pakhmutova, actress Zhanna Bolotova, Elsa Lezhdey, Lydia Shukshina, Alla Pugacheva, Nadezhda Kadysheva, and many other Russian celebtrities. And not only Russian – the legendary singer and actress Liza Minnelli, Vice President Madeleine Albright, Al Gore, President Bush.

“Creativity is a bliss, divine gift, a channel through which I come into contact with the universe. At the fourth year of the Institute I began interested in folk art, folk costume. Folk art – an endless mystery, which each artist opens in his own way. Homespun fabric, embroidery, ancient ornaments, passing from generation to generation, headdress decorated with river beads – everything speaks from my soul with joy and understanding”.

Elena is a well known Russian artist, designer, writer. She is the winner of many All-Union, national and international fashion competitions, the applicant for State Prize in Literature and Art in 1997, a member of Moscow Union of Artists, a member of the Creative Union of Russia, academician of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio, Honorary Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, the Ambassador of Peace, President and Artistic Head of Creative Workshop of Russian Fashion, founder of Elena Pelevina fund.
