The show begins with the theme “Dreams of Russia” – the most complex technically show in the history. A girl named Lyubov leads the audience through the presentation and becomes the main character.
She leads the viewer through the millennia, through an incredibly diverse country, spread to 6.6 million kilometers, nine time zones and 150 peoples of 114,000,000th population
The arena turns into floating islands and volcanoes. Chukotka reindeer and yurts. Actors appear out of the mist, symbolizing the nationalities inhabiting Russia.
Following the presentation of Russian President Vladimir Putin and IOC President Thomas Bach, Russian national anthem is played in the hall. Sretensky Choir performs.
On the arene appear athletes with flags of their countries. The most conservative part of the ceremony – the parade of athletes was not boring at all. By tradition, the parade started with the Greeks.
In accordance with Olympic tradition, now begins the parade of athletes under the music mix DJ Rudenko
Standard-bearer of the Russian national team Alexander Zubkov during the parade of athletes and members of national delegations at the opening ceremony of the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.
The transition to the twentieth century displayed rather symbolically – it is all combined together, and then destroyed: in the air, avant-garde parts are assembled into a mechanical horse to the sound of “Time, Forward!” by composer Georgy Sviridov.
Spotlights flooded the scene in red – the color of the revolution. Catchy Soviet newspapers are projected on the floor. Choreography draws an image of a modern, changing city and changing relationships: young lovers become the bride and groom, and then the fathers and mothers with strollers – welcome to the 80s USSR.
The stadium “Fischt” in Sochi held colorful and technically ambitious opening ceremony of Winter Olympic Games 2014. Show became the basis of the history and Russian ballet performance based on the ball of Natasha Rostova character of War and Peace by Tolstoy, and on arena floor was projected view of our planet from space.
Enchanting show is over. On the arena appear athletes, carrying the torch to the bowl to light the fire of the Games. The first was Maria Sharapova
