Necklace “Treasures of Agra”

Necklace “Treasures of Agra”

Gold 750 °, carnelian, diamonds.

The once traditional form of oriental decoration of the Sassanid empire, stretching from Asia to the borders of India, has been reinterpreted in modern lines and textures, gold (microscopic golden balls and smudges). Openwork gold cylinders, give a rather massive adornment the feeling of “airy” knitting.

It is no coincidence that the number of carnelian balls and golden cylinders is equal to 17, both. In the ancient religions of the East, the number 17 has a special magical meaning. According to some Sufi concepts, the highest name of God contains 17 letters.
In 2010, the work won first place in the “Golden Elephant” competition.

Purchased by the Protocol Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry as a diplomatic gift for the wife of the Prime Minister of Canada, Mrs. Lauryn Harper.
