Figures from wooden shavings of the Soviet master Nikolai Nazorov

Leningrad design engineer Nikolai Nikolaevich Nazorov devotes all his free time to an unusual kind of creativity: in his hands, knots, cones, branches begin a new life. From natural materials and wood, he created a whole gallery of miniature sculptures. Each sculpture has its own theme, its own character, its own mood.

Scenes from Soviet life occupy an important place in NN Nazorov’s work. Such are the compositions “Moscow Nights”, “Rain”, “Serious Guy”. The works of “Fashionista” are marked with subtle humor. “And all the girls …”. In the sculptures “Grandmother and Granddaughters”, “In the Tram”, humor takes on a satirical connotation.

Wooden sculptures by N.N.Nazorov are distinguished by compositional integrity and precise details. The author knows well the techniques of processing natural materials and preserves their natural color and shape.

NN Nazorov’s works are successfully exhibited at the “Nature and Fantasy” exhibitions organized by the Society for the Conservation of Nature. They have received many diplomas and awards.
