Oksana Aleksandrovna Akinshina is one of the young Russian film actresses. She was born on April 19, 1987 in St. Petersburg in a simple family that has nothing to do with cinema. Her father is a car mechanic.
Oksana Akinshina got into the cinema by accident. This happened thanks to Sergei Bodrov Jr., who was looking for actresses for his own film “Sisters”. Three hundred girls came to the casting every day, and Bodrov talked to each of them personally so as not to miss what he needed. The director liked Oksana, he saw in her the very young talent that he had been looking for for so long. The young actress coped with the role of Sveta perfectly. She starred with Katya Gorina. Both of them were honored in 2001 with the Best Acting Duet award. Thanks to her participation in the film “Sisters” Oksana Akinshina became famous.
The beginning of a film career
The very next year she took part in the film “On the Move” (Philip Jankowski) and the new project “Lily Forever” (Lucas Moodison). The latter work made Oksana Akinshina even more popular and contributed to the development of her international fame. Filming was organized in Sweden and Estonia. A year later, the actress was involved in another equally interesting project: she was offered to star in the film “South”. According to Oksana Akinshina, it was not easy for her, since she did not know the Dutch language, but only spoke English. During the filming, the young actress constantly walked with a player and tried to memorize words.
Especially interesting is the work of Oksana in the sensational fantasy blockbuster “Wolfhound from the clan of the Gray Dogs”. This film attracted the attention of many viewers, and Akinshina did not go unnoticed. The actress here played the daughter of the noble ruler of Galigrad – Knesinka Helen. Also worth noting is her appearance in The Bourne Supremacy, in which she played a cameo role. In 2008, the actress appeared on the screens in the musical “Hipsters”.
