Russian in origin, Elena was born in 1983 in Moldavia (USSR). At the age of 19 Elena and her parents moved to Canada. She was crowned Miss Universe in Toronto, Ontario, on June 14, 2010. Semikina graduated from York University with specialty “Marketing and finance”. In addition, the talented girl enrolled in oratory, neuro-linguistic programming, acting and dance classes. Elena represented Canada at the Miss Universe 2010 beauty pageant held in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S. on August 23, 2010. Besides, Elena was in the jury of the preliminary stage of the competition Miss Universe 2013 held in Moscow.

Semikina studied Marketing and Finance at York University in Toronto. She holds a Bachelors degree in Marketing and Finance. Semikina was cast in her first movie role alongside Gil Bellows, Don McKellar, and Kathleen Robertson in the film “Three Days in Havana”, as of June 2012 in post-production. She also appeared in Gitaskog, as of June 2012 in post-production.
