On February 24, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova opened the Soyuzmultpark multimedia center at VDNKh.

“One of the most amazing projects at VDNKh is the cartoon park in the former Seeds pavilion, which has been reconstructed,” said Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. Cartoons themselves are developing in our country. Moscow is becoming one of the world centers for animation. Cinema and animation today is already one of the drivers for the development of the creative industry in Moscow. Soon, next to the cartoon park at VDNKh, a chocolate museum, a circular film panorama, and a huge children’s amusement park will appear. Gradually, VDNH turns into such a children’s center of entertainment, culture and recreation.

Multimedia center Soyuzmultpark. Story

The Soyuzmultpark multimedia center at VDNH in Moscow has become a joint project of the Soyuzmultfilm animation studio, the Moscow government and the Russian Ministry of Culture.

Pavilion No. 7 “Seeds”, built in the second half of the 70s of the last century, was allocated for it. After the overhaul, the 3-storey building housed an exposition of 18 multimedia attractions based on the best domestic cartoons. To do this, we used the latest digital 3D animation technologies, VR AR, RTX (ray tracing) and motion capture (capturing removing motion). Children will be able not only to play and have fun, but also to participate in the creation of their own cartoons.

About 100,000 people, mostly children and teenagers, will be able to visit Soyuzmultpark at VDNKh in Moscow every year.

The main attractions of Soyuzmultpark:

“Journey inside the cartoon” 2 large vertical and 1 floor screens create a feeling of a fairy-tale space that changes as soon as the child takes even one step inside it.

Me and the Cartoon Heroes 4 game zones based on the famous cartoons Winnie the Pooh (1969), The Golden Antelope (1954), Octopussy (1976) and The Mystery of the Third Planet (1981) G.). With the help of motion capture, players can fight bees that Winnie the Pooh wanted to take honey from, run around the Raja’s palace in the form of the Golden Antelope, catch fleeing octopuses, or, like Gromozek with six arms, learn to play musical colors.

“Country of naughty colors”, dedicated to the worlds of “Secrets of the Third Planet”. Players throw light balls at robots moving on huge screens. After several hits, the robots “explode” with bright colors. When all the “villains” are defeated, the heroes release the animals from the cages and put the pirates in them. The whole planet blooms with strange flowers.

Dome cinema for 10 spectators. Sitting on soft bean bags, they can watch a potpourri of their favorite cartoons in 4-5 minutes.

“Map of the land of Winnie the Pooh.”

Players must find and move gifts for the Eeyore Donkey to the walls. After the game, you can take pictures in special photo zones.

“A room with a flashlight in hand” based on the fairy tale “Hedgehog in the Fog” (1975). With the help of flashlights, children and adults can help the Hedgehog and the Bear cub find each other, and also feel “how it (the Horse) is there in the fog.” The mystery is added by the original musical accompaniment, the author of which was the composer of the cartoon, Mikhail Meerovich, as well as additional sound effects that occur when interacting with the projection.

“Magic Sounds” this attraction is dedicated to the cartoon “The Snow Queen” (1957). In the kingdom of the Snow Queen, children see a hall with columns, created from numerous pieces of ice. Depending on the activity of the players, the sculptures change their color and make different sounds. The player’s task is to create a musical composition that will melt the ice in Kai’s heart.

“Vovka in Far Far Away”.

Here, like the protagonist of the 1965 cartoon, the guests find themselves in Far Far Away. The king will offer to test which of the guests is the laziest. The one who sits on the throne the longest is recognized as the main lazy person. Visiting Vasilis the Wise with the help of projection and soft cubes, you can choose wisdom and learn it: how to build a palace, a pond, an oven or a throne, how to make a trough or weave a self-assembled tablecloth.

“Bowls”.

Several bowl screens show videos of amazing natural phenomena and unusual creatures. The heroes of the cartoon “The Secret of the Third Planet” will alternately appear in one or the other bowl. With the help of 3D animation, players will travel inside the body of a fictional animal from the future.

“Walking with Carlson on the rooftops” based on the cartoon “The Kid and Carlson” (1969). The children’s playroom is designed to resemble the roofs of Stockholm, where you can “run” and end up near the house of the main character of the cartoon.

Soyuzmultfilm Museum. In this space, they tell about the history of the creation and development of the film studio.

Bring the cartoon characters to life. Children can color with pencils the characters of the cartoons “Well, wait a minute!”, “Prostokvashino”, “The Secret of the Third Planet” and “Kid and Carlson”. Their drawings will be scanned and displayed on the screen. By touching the screen, you can teach the characters to laugh and say funny phrases.

“Virtual Artist”.

Wearing a virtual reality helmet, kids can color their favorite cartoons or simply draw in 3D. Adults can watch this creative process on the monitor.

Polet 360 is a 5-minute airship ride across Russia and the worlds of Soyuzmultfilm accompanied by animated characters.

“In Search of the Lost Heroes” is a construction for AR games. Participants will help lost characters get back to their cartoons. This is done using interactive stands with tablets or by downloading the Soyuzmultfilm application to a mobile phone.

“Stereo Mirrors” 21 unique stereo panels with cult cartoons from Soyuzmultfilm.

“Visiting cartoon characters.”

Children communicate with the characters of the cartoons “Winnie the Pooh”, “The Bremen Town Musicians”, “Prostokvashino”. Favorite characters will become the hosts of dance and game programs, reacting in real time to the movements and requests of children.

“House for Cheburashka”.

The attraction is dedicated to the main character of one of the most famous cartoons in the history of cinema. In a special photo booth, visitors can shoot a short video using various video filters, and after some time the video will appear in the windows of the house.

In addition to entertainment on the rides, the Soyuzmultpark multimedia center at VDNKh in Moscow offers master classes in creating cartoons. Cartoon characters can be molded from plasticine, drawn, painted, cut out. Then the animator will finalize and mount the footage, work with the sound and indicate the names of its creators in the credits. Completely cartoon is ready within 5-7 days.
