Initially, the church was located upstream of the Berezovets River. There were many wooden buildings in Dmitrov at that time. Due to frequent fires, the Sretenskaya church burned many times. Sretenskaya church was built in the style of early classicism, in which many churches were built in Russia in the 17-18 centuries. The bright red trim makes the church look festive. The main building looks like a cube, the roof of which is crowned with a miniature five-domed building with a central light drum.

The interiors are characterized by simplicity of forms, especially the refectory without any special decorative elements. Forged cross-shaped lattices on the windows of the church.

Bell

The old bell tower of 1814, due to the weakness of the soil and the fragility of the foundation, received a large deviation and threatened to fall. In 1879, the bell tower was declared emergency and was dismantled. In 1883, according to the project of Sergei Konstantinovich Rodionov, the bell tower was rebuilt in the pseudo-Russian style.

It is interesting that the church was built in the style of early classicism, but together the whole complex looks very organic. There are 3 thrones in the church. The main one is Sretensky, the second throne is dedicated to Sergei of Radonezh, and the third to the Vladimir Mother of God.
